f47 I suspect that this copy was smuggled into the coal hole or under the stairs when she (the owner) was sent there as a punishment. It is that kind of book,rather racy and chatty and looks fun to read. Also, the result of the association with the coal hole shows as the book is completely dusty and finger marked etc. There is the possibility of resurrecting it with some time spent with a soft rubber. It is impresed on the front with the logo of Shropshire County Library. The boards are very scuffed and rubbed. A stamp and a bookplate inside and a stamp and a ticket holder in the back. Dorothy Jean Elizabeth Cowan from somewhere inWales has written her name in the front very neatly. The drawn illustrations are good but some one has wasted time colouring some of them in, probably Dorothy Jean. The book is well held together with some strain on the inner spines. I would call this a reading copy.
